Frequently Asked Questions
Do you provide massage to minors?
Yes. I asked the minor consent form be signed. Massage is very beneficial for younger people; children can benefit from massage for various reasons (mental and physical benefits) as well as teenagers who are ongoing a lot of stress with school, physical changes, stress, sports, etc.

Will I have to undress completely?
It is really up to my client. You undress to your comfort level. You will be covered at all times to protect your privacy. Only the part being worked on will be uncovered.

How much should I tip?
If you are unsure how much or if you should tip your massage therapist, think of it as your waitress at the restaurant. I love what I do, and I have a very physical and demanding job. Your tip amount should reflect your appreciation of the services you received. The percentage should be based on the full rate of the services you received. Your therapist might be the owner or not of the business, but remember that she also has to pay business operation expenses, very expensive continuing education in order to keep her license and credentials, along with regular purchases of equipment, to keep fresh all her supplies so you get only the best. :)

What if I am embarrassed of my body?
At Elements of Massage Therapy, I provide unbiased, non-judgmental quality services to my clients. I am not concerned with your race, gender, weight, skin, etc. My goal is to provide you with therapeutic massage, to help ease your pains. A typical massage will cover these parts of your body: arms, legs, feet, hands, back, shoulders, head and neck. Your stomach or face will not be touched, unless you specifically request for it. :)

Scheduling & Cancellation Policy:

Please keep in mind that evening and weekend appointments are popular; It is best to call in advance to reserve your spot.

First time clients special, holiday special, gift certificates and gift cards or any other offers cannot be combined.

I understand that "life happens". To be fair to your therapist and to my clients, a 24 hour notice is required to cancel an appointment. It allows me to give the available time slot to another client. In the event that you do not give advance notice of a cancelation, the full amount of the session you had scheduled will be charged.

No shows and late arrivals:

A client who either forgets or purposely choose not to show to their scheduled session will be considered a no show. I consider no shows to be very disrespectful towards your therapist, making her wait for you in vain, and missing an opportunity to make a living with another potential client. The full amount of the session will be charged. No exceptions.

If you are late for your appointment, you may have your session shortened to allow our daily schedule to stay on time, and be mindful of appointments following yours. Depending upon how late you arrive for your session, you may still be able to receive your full time, or it may be determined that there is not enough time to start a session. Either way, you are still responsible for the full payment of your session. Arrive 10 minutes before your scheduled appointment insures that you get your full session. Please be mindful and be on time. :)

*Certain situations happens to clients that are out of their control, I will try to accommodate you in those instances*. I value your business, thank you for choosing Elements of Balance Massage Therapy!

Disclaimer: We will be open mostly in all weather conditions, with some exceptions in extreme circumstances. We will do our best to keep the premises clear of ice, snow and such. However, please be advised that even salt or sand is sometimes not enough and we will not be responsible for any injuries resulting from a fall, if you choose to hold your appointment. Thank you.
